When the air you exhale is warmer than the surface it lands on, in this case the inside of the visor, condensation forms. This condensation obstructs the view, which can be considered not only annoying but also very dangerous.
The rubber-silicone edge between the visor and the inner lens creates an air chamber. This air chamber is similar to the air chamber of double glazing. The function of this is to minimize the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the helmet, preventing the inside of the visor from having a cold surface where condensation can form. In short, the visor hardly fogs up on the inside anymore.
This is a separate yellow inner lens that can be mounted on a clear Arai CK-6 visor. It does not fit on other Arai visors, and cannot be mounted on colored/tinted visors.
