Shirts
Shirts that may be used in motorsport are made of flame-retardant material (Nomex), equipped with long sleeves and a collar. Additionally, they are provided with an FIA homologation. There are also shirts with short sleeves and without a collar, but these are never FIA approved and therefore not allowed when driving under FIA rules. Pro-Racing supplies shirts from the brands Sparco and Alpinestars. The various types of shirts differ from each other in material use and fit; the more luxurious shirts have a nice tailored fit while the basic shirts have a 'regular-fit' fit. In terms of material use, the more luxurious shirts are made of better fabrics that more easily dissipate warm air and moisture, providing more wearing comfort.
The shirts can also be provided by us with sponsor logos or, for example, a name. This can often be realized within a few days. Contact us for more information about so-called 'Special Made' shirts.

Socks
Also, a racer's socks must be made of flame-retardant material (Nomex), must come at least above the ankles, and be FIA homologated. Pro-Racing supplies socks from the brands Sparco and Alpinestars. A distinction is often made between short and long socks; short socks reach about halfway up the lower leg, and long socks up to the knee.

Balaclavas
The balaclava (helmet cap, also often called head sock in English) has a dual function in motorsport; besides protecting the driver from fire, the balaclava ensures that perspiration is absorbed, thus keeping the helmet in good condition. Ideal, since the lining of a motorsport helmet is often not removable and therefore difficult to clean. Like all other undergarments, the balaclava must be made of fire-retardant material (Nomex) and have FIA homologation. Pro-Racing supplies balaclavas from the brands Sparco and Alpinestars.

Underwear
When looking at the FIA regulations, it is clearly stated that a driver is not allowed to wear normal underwear under the mandatory undergarments (the shirt and long pants), unless it is made of fire-retardant material. Previously, fire-retardant underwear was not or hardly available, but the manufacturer Sparco has cleverly capitalized on this! The new collection includes fire-retardant FIA-approved underwear for both men and women.
