Elite Electronics TrackComm pitlane - vehicle

The Elite Electronics TrackComm communication set consists of a basic pitlane <-> vehicle configuration. Since the system has a modular design, it can easily be expanded to, for example, 1 person in the pitlane communicating with 2 vehicles on the track, or vice versa. The advantage of using voice messages, instead of an open phone connection, is that it is perceived as much calmer and more effective - both for the driver and the pit crew. If there is nothing to report, the connection remains silent. But as soon as someone speaks a message via the Push-to-Talk button, it is played almost immediately at the receiving end.

Vehicle part
The driver carries a compact helmet unit. This can be mounted directly to the helmet by means of a clip that is inserted between the helmet*. The helmet unit is connected to a helmet set (microphone, speakers or earplugs) via a so-called female Nexus connection. In the case of, for example, a Stilo helmet, this helmet set is often already (partly) present in the helmet and the helmet unit can be inserted directly into the communication port of the helmet. If it concerns a helmet without preparation, an optional separate helmet set can be purchased. For example, from our own brand Elite Electronics. The helmet unit wirelessly connects to a mobile phone via Bluetooth. This can be any daily smartphone, provided it is equipped with the Android or iOS operating system. The free app called Zello must also be installed on the phone to be used. The Zello app allows all participating phones to function as walkie-talkies. Good to know; upon request, Pro-Racing also provides dedicated smartphones at an additional cost. These devices come standard with a prepaid SIM card with call credit. Sending a voice message is automatically initiated by pressing the included Push-To-Talk button (abbreviated as PTT). The PTT button is also wirelessly connected via Bluetooth and can easily be attached to the handlebar via the Velcro strap.

*In some cases, mounting accessories on a helmet is not allowed, especially in karting. The helmet unit can then be easily mounted elsewhere, for example on the body protector. For this, an extension cable must be purchased, which is optionally available.

Pitlane part
The operation of the pitlane part is broadly similar to the vehicle part, also by means of a mobile phone and the PTT button. The essential difference is a high-quality headset that the pit crew can wear comfortably and for longer periods. The PTT button can be worn around the finger, so that it is always within reach.
