During the development of the Arai GPV-R helmet, Arai has further refined its well-known safety philosophy. Thanks to an extremely round and smooth outer shell according to the Egg Shaped Form (ESF), impact energy is better dissipated in the event of a crash. Instead of coming to an abrupt stop, the helmet can slide along a surface, reducing rotational forces on the head and neck. The Arai GPV-R is equipped with the newly developed advanced VAS (Variable Axis System) visor mechanism. The pivot point of the visor is placed lower, keeping the top of the helmet shell even rounder and stronger. In addition, an important improvement has been made, namely an 8 mm higher visor opening. This gives the driver a larger vertical field of vision, which is a great advantage especially in a deep seating position in a race car.
The lining of the Arai GPV-R has been completely renewed and is now removable and washable. The cheek pads are prepared for installing communication equipment, and the central pad in front of the mouth makes installing a hydration system extremely easy. To optimize the fit of the Arai GPV-R, both the lining and the cheek pads are available in different thicknesses as options.
Mounting HANS clips on the Arai GPV-R is a breeze thanks to the presence of M6 anchors.
