FHR compatible
FHR-compatible touring car harnesses are specially developed for use in combination with a HANS system or Hybrid. The shoulder belts of these harnesses are (partially) 2 inches wide. Because the shoulder belt is narrower, it runs more easily over the neck protector and has little tendency to slip off the system. An FHR-compatible harness is always a 6-point harness. During official races, wearing an FHR system is mandatory when using 2-inch shoulder belts, while during track days this is generally not enforced. Pro-Racing sells FHR-compatible touring car harnesses from the brands Schroth and Sparco.

A 4-point harness is ideal for sporty street cars or track day cars where a safer solution is sought than the standard 3-point factory belt. The 5th and 6th points prevent the driver from sliding under the harness. A standard 6-point harness always has 3-inch shoulder straps and is therefore less suitable for use in combination with an FHR system (HANS or Hybrid). However, the advantage of these harnesses is that the choice to drive with or without an FHR system lies with the driver. Pro-Racing sells 6-point harnesses from the brands Schroth and Sparco.
