When the opportunity arose in mid-2003 to take over the importership of the grand racing brand Sparco, the decision was quickly made; Pro-Racing was founded in November 2003. It was decided to keep the location within Hillegom, given its favorable location relative to Circuit Zandvoort.
Specialist in safety
Partly due to the introduction of a new FIA inspection and the acquisition of the established customer base, Pro-Racing had a successful start. It was quickly decided to expand the range beyond Sparco. One thing was clear; Pro-Racing would focus solely on safety articles and related items for drivers and vehicles, leaving the technical side to specialists in that field.
Thus, contracts were signed with brands such as Schroth (known for the HANS system - Pro-Racing was the first sales point of this safety system in the Netherlands) and the well-known helmet brand Arai. The value of a clear website and webshop became increasingly important, which was addressed, and www.pro-racing.nl went online.
Personal contact and service
From the start of the company in 2003, it was decided not to act as a price fighter, but as a company where personal contact and service would be in Pole Position. It soon became clear that this was the right decision; customers who found Pro-Racing from the beginning remained loyal, and the name Pro-Racing quickly became the address for purchasing safety clothing within the niche market. This did not go unnoticed by manufacturers active in this industry. Brands like Alpinestars and Stilo found in Pro-Racing the sales point they were looking for. By listening carefully to the market, the range was completed over the years by adding additional brands, so that a suitable solution can be found for every customer and within every budget.
Wide range based on A-brands
In the company building in Hillegom, one finds today a particularly wide range of only A-brands that have proven themselves amply over the years in the auto and karting sports.
